My Approach: I began my career in therapy with training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and it remains a cornerstone of my work with individuals and families. I find CBT especially effective for addressing anxiety, depression, and life transitions, as it equips you with tools to regulate thoughts and emotions. Over the years, I have also integrated various therapeutic techniques into my work, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Systems Theory, and a Strengths-Based Perspective. I am also trained in Trauma-Informed Care, which helps me understand how trauma impacts our behaviors and how we can heal from past wounds in a compassionate, practical way. My Therapeutic Style: I take a compassionate, holistic approach to therapy, combining empathy, deep listening, and practical guidance. I believe that you come to therapy with inherent strengths and my role is to help you recognize and build upon those strengths. With encouragement and support, you can develop the skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change. Through my background in social work, I also bring a strong foundation in social justice, which helps me understand and honor the many factors that influence a person’s well-being. I believe that a positive therapeutic relationship is key to helping clients build resilience and thrive.
