Getting to know Charleen Gonzalez

*Only Accepting Online Sessions* Hi, my name is Charleen. I am a Latinx, Licensed Therapist based in Florida. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Miami and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. I have been providing therapy to clients for the past 7 years, initially in community settings and now in my private practice. My typical clients are women in their early 20s to late 30s who are navigating various phases of life. This can include a range of topics such as breakups, career challenges, insecurity, attachment issues, friendship struggles, anxiety, depression, and the general feeling of “I don’t know what I’m doing with my life.” I have also worked with many clients from the LGBTQIA community seeking a safe space for mental health treatment. Living in the age of COVID-19 has intensified mental health challenges for many people. Feelings of isolation, loss, constant stress, awkwardness in socializing, and other issues have come up frequently in my practice. I create a comforting and non-judgmental space in my therapy sessions where you are the expert of your life, and I’m here to help figure things out with you. I will provide you with coping skills and a listening ear for all the challenges you are facing. It’s time to put yourself first and stop pouring from an empty cup. Reach out to me to learn more.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session would be focused on getting to know you on your history. We will formulate a plan for therapy, including specific goals you want to work on. Most of my client take away a sense of direction from sessions, as well as a feeling of being able to let go of all of the emotions they were holding on to. I provide my clients validation and support, but also gentle challenging in areas that need more prioritizing.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
