Hello, I'm Charlie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri. I've been dedicated to the mental health field since 2003, and I earned my Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 2005. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals, including adults living with HIV, veterans, incarcerated individuals, and transgender/gender variant individuals. My experience spans both individual and group settings, and I've co-facilitated and coordinated a group for trans youth for six years. As a proud bisexual trans man, I am passionate about supporting my LGBT communities and celebrating kinky and polyamorous people. I strive to be an imperfect ally to non-binary individuals and people of color, always learning and growing in my journey. In my practice, I embrace a person-centered, social justice-informed approach, utilizing tools and techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am also informed by Internal Family Systems, which helps me understand the different parts of ourselves that influence our thoughts and behaviors. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you leverage your strengths to achieve your goals. Whether it's finding new tools, understanding basic neurology to change thought patterns, or simply providing a safe space to explore your feelings, I'm here to support you. I aim to provide therapy in a way that feels right for you while also encouraging you to lean into some discomfort for growth. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy connecting with my communities and continuously learning to be a better ally and advocate.
