What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to therapy, providing a safe, non-judgmental space where your well-being is the priority. My practice is rooted in emotional safety, empowerment, compassion, and resilience, guiding you toward healing and personal growth. I specialize in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Anger Management, and Grief & Loss Counseling, helping you navigate trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, and other life challenges. In our early sessions, we’ll focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and exploring your experiences. Many clients begin to feel empowered early in the process and often notice meaningful improvements within the first month or two.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first session, often called the intake session, is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask about your background, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. You don’t have to have all the answers—this is a safe space to explore what’s on your mind at your own pace. Some things we might discuss include: Your current challenges and concerns Past experiences that may be affecting you today Your mental health history (if applicable) Your goals for therapy This session also allows you to ask any questions about the therapy process, my approach, or what to expect moving forward. As therapy progresses, we’ll explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be impacting your well-being. Some sessions may focus on developing practical tools for handling stress, while others may involve deeper discussions about past experiences. Each session builds upon the last, helping you make gradual progress toward your goals. Common elements of therapy sessions include: Talking through challenges in a judgment-free space Learning new coping skills and strategies Identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns Exploring emotions and past experiences in a safe way Celebrating small wins and progress
