About My Areas of Focus Couples – You have chosen a person with whom you believe that you will spend the rest of your life. Your choice of this person, and the access to your life that you choose to give them make them person the most important person in your life. This relationship can be a difficult one to maintain. There could be betrayal or difficulty trusting because of past experiences; perhaps you find it difficult to understand things from the other person’s point of view, or feeling understood by them. I would love to help! I enjoy working with couples and helping them develop this amazing relationship into an opportunity to thrive together. I use Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques when I am working with couples. I believe these two techniques can help couples feel closer to one another if they are willing to work for that. Individuals – When a person is struggling with issues like anger, depression, lack of motivation, or anxiety they can feel isolated and alone. Often people believe that their struggles are so different from those of others that they are left with no one to talk to. I love to help people remember that they are not alone! Life can be difficult, but navigating your difficulties can be easier when you have someone with whom you can share your struggles. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy when helping individuals. I believe both models help people learn to thrive in their personal lives.
