Charles Wigle, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Charles! My name is Charles Wigle (pronounced "Why-gull"), and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 35 years of experience. I hold a Master's degree in Psychology from the International College. My approach is person-centered and strength-based, with a focus on working with adults. My approach My work draws on broad experience, including trauma-informed care (I am trained in EMDR), solution-focused techniques, and strength-based methods. I also incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), emphasizing a healthy relationship with our thoughts and feelings and a reconnection with our purpose and what is meaningful to us. My focus I enjoy supporting people experiencing life transitions such as career changes or new life paths, shifts in relationship and family structure like divorce, empty nest, and estrangement, health challenges, and later-life issues including loss, retirement, life review, and the search for meaning. My clients may present with a variety of symptoms, including anxiety and depression. My communication style I work in a gentle, supportive, and compassionate way. My goal is for clients to feel heard, accurately seen, and truly known by me as well as by themselves. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to therapy as a way to help others-starting out in university wanting to become a teacher. It is an honor to collaborate with clients in their search for deeper self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-compassion. I have worked in diverse settings with varied populations and needs, including those with severe mental illness, community mental health (all ages), health issues such as cancer and HIV/AIDS, victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence, divorce, gambling problems, and end-of-life/hospice care.
