Charlett Korling, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I’m Charlett Korling, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and my journey into the mental health field is a personal one. Both of my parents had acquired brain injuries, and I was driven to understand and support them as best I could, which ultimately led me to this profession. My own family is neurodiverse, with both of my children bringing their unique perspectives and strengths to my life. These experiences, paired with my long education and varied roles in mental health outside of therapy, give me a unique blend of insight and empathy. Clients often tell me that they feel comfortable talking with me, especially those new to therapy. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where people feel free to explore whatever challenges they’re facing. I’m also passionate about play therapy, which allows me to engage children and adolescents in a way that feels natural and safe for them. Throughout my career, I’ve been honored to receive the Mental Health Loan Assumption Program (MHLAP) award four times for my commitment to cultural diversity, and I volunteer with the Family Justice Center and A Safe Place, where I serve on the Advisory Board. Outside of therapy, I’m a lifelong scuba diver with my own boat and over 30 years of diving experience. I hold a brown belt in jiu-jitsu, and I used to do pet-assisted therapy, which added another layer of connection to my work. I’m also conversational in Spanish and American Sign Language, which helps me reach more clients in a way that feels accessible and inclusive.
