Charlotte March, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NJ
Hi there, I'm Charlotte! Hello, My name is Charlotte March, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in New Jersey and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and adults who are elderly. I specialize in anxiety, stress, caregiver stress, depression and grief. My approach The most common theoretical approaches I utilize in therapy are supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation therapy, Client-centered therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy. My approach is to encourage client's ventilation of needs, concerns and feelings to establish rapport and build a therapeutic relationship. My focus The types of clients with whom I typically work are depressed, anxious as a result of lifestyle changes, whether it be due to an illness, loss of job or income, family dynamics, disabilities, family dynamics, caring for a family member, or grief over the loss of family, friend or pet. Many clients I work with have feelings of guilt or of being a burden to their families or caregiver stress. My communication style My communication style is calm, non-judgemental. I utilize listening skills and try to be where they are emotionally. I start where the client is. I hope my clients feel as though they are not alone in this journey of life! My journey to mental healthcare My journey is when I was very young a member of my immediate family was diagnosed with a serious mental illness. As a result, in high school and in college I was drawn to psychology and social work coursework. In practicing social work, I realized it was fulfilling for me to listen to people's personal narratives and perspectives on life, and I was able to assist in helping to achieve their goals. My goals for you I approach goal setting with clients by exploring what goals they would like to achieve. I encourage them to take small steps toward their goals, and it's ok if they have setbacks. It's also ok if goals evolve over time.
