Charlton Thiede, LPC

Psychotherapist
AR
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with an Educational Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have extensive experience in managing and de-escalating crisis situations, assisting clients in working through anxiety, depression, grief, anger, substance use issues, relational conflict, and life transitions. As a means for effectively healing from trauma, I am trained in EMDR and Brainspotting. My approach I prefer an eclectic approach which utilizes elements of person-centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused therapeutic techniques. I believe that creating a comfortable and accepting environment for people and building relationships with them is the greatest indicator of positive outcomes. My focus Over the past 14 years, I have worked with clients of all ages and ethnic/socioeconomic backgrounds. My ideal client is anyone who is ready to make positive change in their life (whatever that may look like) and is willing and eager to do the work that it may take to see these changes occur for them! My communication style My focus in communication is expressing empathy, the development of genuine therapeutic connection, and honesty. I will be honest with you, and we will both be working to be increasingly honest with ourselves! My journey to mental healthcare Growing up, I attended summer camp, and during college, I worked at the same one as a counselor for 4 summers. Despite this, I wasn't thinking about doing therapy as a career. I was blessed with a job after college as a Mental Health Paraprofessional, and I loved the work. From there, I pursued a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and the rest is history. I love people and their stories. I want to be someone who can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
