“I like Char a lot. Ots really hard, but I'm trying to learn balance, on many areas, and even in the sessions, I think that I've been jabbering too much with so much going on at any given moment, so i have been pouring out what I've held in so long and not letting her give me her advice on situations and some ways to cope when I am having a bad day, like today. Plus I care about her and others too. But that's on my end. Char Is great. She has a compassionate heart. I can see that or I wouldn't have opened up to her so I definitely think we connected on some level, but if she isn't feeling the same, that is something I would like to know asap. She has alot of experience in many areas, so if she's willing to stick with me lol I think she's fantastic!”

Hello, I'm Char. Welcome to my profile! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Addiction Specialist with a deep passion for helping individuals, families, and groups navigate life's challenges. My journey in mental health began with an Associate of Science in Psychology from Ancilla College in 1995, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology & Psychology from Indiana University in 1997, and a Master of Social Work from Indiana University in 2006. I've been licensed in Indiana since 2011 and have extensive experience working with chronically mentally ill adults, adolescents, and veterans, among others. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, Experiential therapy techniques including Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), and Mindfulness. I believe in tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe to explore and grow. Over the years, I've worked in various settings, including Community Mental Health Centers, Child and Adolescent Residential Facilities, and private practice. My specialties include addiction, ADHD, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dementia, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, family relationships, grief/bereavement, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, OCD, phobias, psychosis/schizophrenia, PTSD, spirituality, stress, trauma, and traumatic brain injury. I like Char a lot.
