Getting to know Chelsea Adams

Hi! My name is Chelsea. I am a licensed therapist living in Tennessee and serving clients in Pennsylvania. I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville. I have been privileged to work with people from many walks of life in various levels of mental health care, and currently I provide short-term and long-term virtual individual therapy for adults. I help people whose emotional pain has spilled out onto their relationships, work, family, physical health, or creative endeavors. Perhaps this pain comes from facing a significant life transition, grieving a loved one, or difficulty breaking free from traumatic events or periods of life. Often this pain comes in the form of anxiety, excessive worry, hypervigilance, depressed or unstable mood, irritability, numbness, hopelessness, fatigue, dissociation, or suicidal thoughts. I believe that mental health symptom relief and learning practical coping skills are important in treatment, and I also believe that healing does not have to stop there. Therapy can be a place to uncover your true self, to become unburdened from the weight of the past, to help you live a meaningful life where you have agency, or to build your psychological immunity for the future. Let's see if we're a good fit!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I aim to provide a personal presence of attunement, curiosity, stability, warmth, and patience to give you the freedom to express yourself honestly. If you feel that there is a good fit between us, we can begin to address your deepest concerns in a co-created, safe relationship. We will together examine your experiences, thoughts, emotions, sensations, and habits to achieve a deeper understanding of you. We will look at any self-defeating patterns and figure out practical ways to break through them. We will co-regulate and move through the emotions that have been keeping you stuck. We will look at your strengths and resources and use them in the service of your goals. You can expect to come out of sessions lighter and with more clarity.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
