Getting to know Chelsea Chang

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2019, with a Master's in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. I have experience supporting young adults and adults facing challenges such as addictions, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship and family issues, and anger management. I became a therapist because I understand how important therapy was to my own self-improvement and healing. We are all human beings trying to live life to the fullest, yet daily stressors can often get in the way of reaching our greatest potential. I learned that caring for my mental health is empowering, and I want to empower others to do the same.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My ideal client would like to resolve these issues by empowering themselves to learn how to counter negative thoughts, regulate emotions, tolerate moments of distress, communicate effectively, and mindfully stay within the present moment. I like to guide my ideal client to learn these skills in order to manifest their ideal life and be the best version of themselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer 45-50 min. therapy sessions online via video or telephone, and I'm available most weekdays and in the evenings. The types of therapy I offer include Attachment-Based, Coaching, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Culturally Sensitive, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Feminist, Grief Support Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I have experience working with communities such as LGBT+, BIPOC, non-binary, and single mothers.
