Chelsea Cheek, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Chelsea supports individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and patterns that feel difficult to break. Many of the people she works with feel overwhelmed by their emotions, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in familiar but exhausting cycles such as people-pleasing, shutting down, or constantly feeling on edge without fully understanding why. Often there’s a quiet sense of “I know something needs to change, but I don’t know how or where to start.” Chelsea understands how isolating that space can feel. In therapy, Chelsea helps you slow down and reconnect with yourself. She invites you to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, including emotions, body signals, protective patterns, long-held beliefs, and survival strategies that may have helped in the past but no longer serve you. Together, you’ll build tools for emotional regulation, clearer communication, and boundary setting in a way that feels supportive and empowering. Her work emphasizes curiosity over self-criticism and creating space for your needs without guilt or judgment. Chelsea’s approach is gentle, intentional, and collaborative. There is no pressure to perform healing or open up before you’re ready. She honors the pace of your nervous system and works with you to create enough safety for meaningful change. Every step forward, no matter how small, is treated as significant. Chelsea shows up as a real, grounded presence in the room. She is warm, thoughtful, and honest, offering reflection and clarity without hiding behind jargon. She understands that asking for help can feel vulnerable, especially for those used to being strong or taking care of others. Her goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and free to bring your full experience. Chelsea believes healing is about reconnecting with yourself, your body, and your story. Therapy with her is not about becoming someone new, but about returning to who you were before you learned you had to carry everything alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have experience with those who have suffered from past abuse and trauma, addictions, depression and anxiety. Often the presenting challenges for these clients has been around emotional control/stability, loss of joy/purpose, lack of a healthy support system and a tendency to relapse. My clients goals have often included helping them decrease anxiety levels by learning to self soothe when triggered, to utilize more positive communication skills, to set healthier boundaries, and to create a more structured schedule in their daily lives. As your therapist, I am here to listen to the concerns you are having in your life and to help you identify negative patterns. I will share support in the goals we both create for your therapy and continue to monitor progress as your sessions continue, making note of areas you’re becoming autonomous in and areas that need more focus. I have dealt with my own mental health problems in the past and I understand that it is a hard thing to do, to reach out for help. But I can say, that it did greatly impact and help my life for the better. I encourage anyone who is struggling with their mental health to reach out and seek the help you need.
