Psychotherapist
NH
Hi there, I'm Chelsea! Hi! My name is Chelsea Coffman and I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in New Hampshire. I have been licensed for 10 years and have been providing clinical services for 20 years. I am very passionate about supporting my clients in the best way that I can. I believe that people are social animals who need each other, that life is hard sometimes, and that everyone can benefit from a space to process thoughts and feelings. I believe that seeking support is a strength and an act of bravery, not a weakness or a flaw. My approach My approach to therapy is eclectic, client-centered, supportive, and strengths-based. I provide trauma-informed care and incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamic theory, and family therapy theories into my work. Having a variety of “tools” in my “toolbox” ensures that I can help people create their own toolboxes that will be the most effective for them, because one size does not fit all. My focus I have extensive experience working with a wide variety of populations with many different struggles. On the telehealth platform, I work with adults in individual therapy experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, mood disorders, grief, stress, relationship struggles, life changes/transitions, and more. I want to help people make positive changes in their lives, as well as learn the skills needed to maintain these changes over time. My communication style It is incredibly important to me that my clients feel comfortable, safe, unconditionally accepted, respected, and validated. Therapy is the most effective within the context of a trusting relationship, which I do not expect to be created instantly. I strive to be as transparent and non-judgmental as possible to facilitate building this trust, and I always welcome feedback about what does and does not work well.
