Getting to know Chelsea Faulkner

I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming art therapist and counselor who supports adults and youth navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, identity, and life transitions. I believe therapy can be a place to explore, create, and discover new ways forward. In sessions, I integrate art therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic approaches to create care that fits each client. My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in curiosity and authenticity.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgemental space where you feel heard and are able to show up as your authentic self. My approach is collaborative and inclusive, recognizing that our identities, relationships, and broader life experiences shape how we navigate challenges. I work to understand your experiences within their unique context and build on your existing strengths.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session may begin with checking in about your recent experiences, stressors, or anything you would like to explore that day. From there, we will work together to identify what feels most important to you that day, whether that means processing a recent experience, exploring patterns or emotions, or working towards your treatment goals. I tailor sessions to your individual needs and draw from a variety of approaches, including art therapy, EMDR, IFS, somatic approaches, narrative therapy, metacognitive therapy, and CBT. Throughout our work, we will collaborate to find approaches that feel meaningful and helpful to you.
