Chelsea Sherman, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MN
Hello, it's nice to meet you. My name is Chelsea and I am an independently licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing therapy for several years now, and prior to that worked in the field of various disabilities and abilities in a variety of settings, such as job coaching, group home settings, Director of Waiver Case Management, school therapist, etc. This experience has helped me to gain a lot of knowledge about the world, challenges and barriers, that many people face today, especially when struggling with disabilities, mental health diagnoses, physical disabilities, chronic pain, lower socio-economic status, etc. My approach as a support person, whether that be as a therapist or otherwise, is to be person-centered and client-driven. I have experience and knowledge with many modalities, like CBT, DBT, PCIT, and others, but ultimately, my expertise is meeting people where they are, and going at the pace that feels right for their journey. I listen to what people would like to work on, and the challenges in their life they want to face, through a lens that is nonjudgmental and non-shaming. I have a lot of lived and professional experience with the population of Neurodiversity, including ADHD, ASD, and challenging behavioral concerns in children, teenagers, and the like. My youngest client to date is 1.5 years old, up to 99 years old, and I have enjoyed or grown from what every person has brought to the "couch" so to speak.
