Helping people help themselves is a passion that I have had for years. Being able to see the look on someone’s face when they realize their true potential, find a solution to a problem, or discover hope in amongst chaos is a beautiful experience. My approach While I do tend to lean towards being a cognitive behavioral therapist, I like to meet clients where they are at and utilize approaches most likely to address their goals. I like to discuss topics at the client's pace, and will sometimes use homework assignments directed at stated goals and concerns. My focus I specialize in helping clients who struggle with anxiety, adjustment disorders, grief, difficulty adapting to life changes, struggles with organization and time management, stress with work and or school, difficulties with communication, and issues with self-esteem. Christian-based counseling can be provided upon request. My communication style I am honest, I use humor when appropriate, and I value being genuine. My journey to mental healthcare From a young age, I was told I was a good listener, and I loved helping people problem-solve. As I grew older, I found psychology to be fascinating, and the concepts overall made sense to me. I wanted to do something career-wise that would help others in a positive manner. While getting my bachelor's in psychology, I took a class in counselling. I love it so much that not only did I become a TA for that class the next year, but I later applied to get my masters as an LMFT. My goals for you I meet clients where they are at, explore and utilize their own strengths, and discover additional coping skills specifically targeted with their goals in mind.
