Getting to know Cherie Older
My goal is for each person I work with to feel seen and accepted as they are, and over time to be able to view themselves through a compassionate lens that acknowledges both strengths and challenges. I approach therapy as both a learning and a healing experience. I work to help people identify and understand their values, beliefs, and behavioral and relational patterns so that they can assess whether these continue to be a good fit for them. I also help individuals process past experiences and understand the impact these experiences had at the time, as well as how they have shaped the way they view themselves.
I have been a psychotherapist for over 20 years, primarily working with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. I also have experience with neurodivergent individuals and people who have experienced trauma, as well as with depression, anxiety, identity formation, and parenting issues. I work with adults of all ages and with adolescents. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Temple University and a Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
