Hi there, I'm Cheryl! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience in helping individuals navigate life's challenges. My goal is to empower my clients to discover their strengths and develop coping strategies that work for them. My focus Anxiety, addiction, relationship issues, existential crisis. My communication style I create a space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings, even the difficult ones! I do this by showing warmth and empathy in session, and maintaining an open and accepting environment so clients can express themselves without fear of judgment. I also incorporate mindfulness practices to help ground the session and to increase mind/body awareness. Additionally, I am flexible and adaptable to adjust my approach and the focus of the session based on the client's needs. My journey to mental healthcare I was in a corporate job and was not finding fulfillment. I became a therapist to make a positive difference in the world. My goals for you I start collaborating with the client during the initial assessment, to help identify short and long-term goals. Once these are established, reframing them into SMART goals helps to maintain client motivation to continue their forward momentum. Additionally, regular check-ins with the client are needed to assess if the established goals are still a priority, or if things changed for them. I aim to empower the client to take ownership of their goals.
