Getting to know Cheryl Vogl

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) providing telehealth services to adults throughout Delaware. I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, relationship stress, addiction recovery, and the emotional weight of trying to hold everything together while appearing “fine” on the outside. Many of my clients are high-functioning, capable people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Some are working through grief, caregiver stress, workplace conflict, or patterns in relationships they no longer want to repeat. My style is conversational, grounded, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe enough to speak openly without judgment. I balance warmth with practical tools, helping clients not only understand their patterns but also develop skills to manage emotions, set boundaries, and make sustainable changes. When clinically appropriate, I share my lived experience using the interventions offered and my success with them. I value authenticity in the therapy relationship. Clients often share that they appreciate my approachable style and the sense of being understood rather than analyzed. My goal is to create a space where you can explore difficult topics while also recognizing what is already working well in your life. Whether you are seeking support for a specific crisis or looking to grow in self-awareness and resilience, therapy can be a meaningful investment in your long-term well-being. If you are ready to take the next step, I would be honored to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a therapy experience that is conversational, collaborative, and grounded in real-life application. I aim to create a space that feels safe and human rather than overly clinical, while still using evidence-based approaches to guide our work. I will ask thoughtful questions, help you identify patterns, and support you in developing practical tools you can use between sessions. I believe therapy works best when there is a strong therapeutic alliance, so I value openness, honesty, and mutual respect. My approach balances emotional processing with skill-building — we will explore what’s beneath the surface while also focusing on concrete steps toward change. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, we will work together to clarify your goals and move toward meaningful progress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with getting to know you — not just the problem that brought you in, but your history, strengths, stressors, and goals. In our first few sessions, we’ll clarify what you’d like to change or improve and identify patterns that may be contributing to current challenges. A typical session is conversational and collaborative. We usually start with a check-in about your week, identify something specific to focus on, and then explore both the emotional and practical aspects of that situation. I integrate evidence-based strategies such as cognitive behavioral techniques, emotional regulation skills, and trauma-informed approaches, while keeping the discussion grounded and relevant to your daily life. I aim to balance insight with action. You can expect thoughtful questions, space to process difficult experiences, and practical tools you can apply between sessions. Over time, we adjust our focus based on your progress, goals, and evolving needs. My role is to provide support, structure, and perspective while helping you build the skills and confidence to navigate challenges independently.

Cheryl has been a great help. She is a very good listener and provides fantastic insight on the "why" issues. Her scheduling and communication is outstanding. To me, Cheryl is a very caring professional and I find her to be easy to relate to. I highly recommend Cheryl for those seeking help with their circumstances.
Cheryl is an insightful therapist, always allowing me to set the pace and tone of our sessions, sensing and adjusting her approach in a way best suited for my needs on any given week.
From the first moment I met Cheryl, I felt her warmth an concern. I feel lke I am more tan just a patient, and that really mans a lot.
Finding Cheryl Vogl has been a gift. From our first session, her energy was grounded, non-judgmental, and real. She has the credentials, but what stood out was her authenticity. Nothing felt clinical or textbook. It felt safe and honest. There was an immediate sense of “I get you” in the room. Cheryl shows up as someone who has done her own healing and understands what inner work actually takes. Therapy is vulnerable work. You’re peeling back layers in real time. With Cheryl, I felt comfortable right away. That alone speaks volumes. She is open, transparent, and compassionate, while staying grounded and present. Her warmth makes even the hard conversations feel manageable. People come into our lives for reasons and seasons, and I know Cheryl is someone I was meant to cross paths with during this chapter. I look forward to our future sessions & am deeply thankful for her guidance. I highly recommend Cheryl. She gets you, & she creates a space where real healing happens.????????????????

Cheryl is a deeply empathetic and grounded therapist who creates a space that feels both supportive and safe. She brings in humor thoughtfully, which helps ease difficult moments without ever taking away from the work being done. I consistently leave our sessions feeling lighter, more clear-headed, and better equipped to face my challenges. Her ability to listen without judgment while also offering practical insight has made a meaningful difference in my growth.
