Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Cheryl. I provide a warm and supportive approach to help people address difficult issues like grief, trauma, significant health issues, end of life, depression, and adjusting to major life changes. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where you can explore your feelings and work through your challenges at your own pace. I have a rich background in various healthcare settings, including outpatient therapy, emergency departments, acute rehab centers, medical units, centers for disabilities, and inpatient psychiatric units for adolescents, adults, and seniors. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the unique needs of different populations. In addition to my clinical work, I have held leadership positions where I provided supervision and training for staff, ensuring that they are well-equipped to offer the best care possible. Many individuals I serve have significant concerns they are working to address, including addictions, eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, and other patterns developed as coping mechanisms for distressing conditions and experiences. I am trained in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, grief counseling, crisis intervention, caregiver issues, and chronic pain management. My extensive history in individual, family, and group counseling, as well as crisis intervention, allows me to offer a comprehensive and empathetic approach to therapy. I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Additionally, I have certificates in Trauma-Informed Care, DBT, Verbal Judo Instruction, and Auricular Acupuncture. These qualifications enable me to provide a well-rounded and effective therapeutic experience. If you're looking for a compassionate and experienced therapist to help you navigate life's challenges, I invite you to reach out.
