Psychotherapist
NM
Hi there, I'm Cheyenne! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy to clients in New York, New Mexico, and Connecticut. I work with adults and couples navigating burnout, anxiety, grief, relationship strain, and the aftermath of hard life chapters. My practice is built around one idea: choosing yourself isn't selfish — it's the work. My focus I work with high-achieving adults, caregivers who take care of everyone but themselves, first responders, people rebuilding after incarceration, couples in conflict or repair, and teens 15+ finding their footing. If you've been holding it together for everyone else and it's finally catching up with you, we should talk. My approach I practice from an integrative, trauma-informed lens, drawing on CBT, Internal Family Systems, and Gottman-informed methods for couples. We look at what's actually driving the pattern, name it honestly, and build skills you can use between sessions. My communication style I'm warm and direct. Years in jails, emergency rooms, and psychiatric units mean there's very little you can say that will unsettle me. I'll reflect back what I hear, and when something doesn't add up, I'll name it — gently, and with curiosity rather than judgment. You don't need to perform being okay with me. My journey to mental healthcare I started in group practice, then moved into acute settings — psychiatric services in a county detention center and psychiatric ERs in New York. I met people at their worst moments and saw how rarely anyone stayed long enough to ask what they wanted next, or helped them build a path there. That's why I built this practice. My goals for you We set goals in your language, not clinical shorthand — what you want to feel, do, or stop doing. I break those into steps small enough to actually start, usually with something to practice between sessions. You'll always know what we're working toward and why.
