Chloe Kressel, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I specialize in working with high-functioning women who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally reactive in their relationships and daily life. Many of my clients are capable, thoughtful, and insightful, yet find themselves stuck in patterns of overthinking, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty regulating their emotions during stress or conflict. Therapy is a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin responding in ways that feel steadier and more aligned. I work with women navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and secure — not just coping, but truly connected to yourself and your life. I provide telehealth therapy throughout New York and am in-network with BCBS, Aetna, and Cigna. I currently have availability and welcome new clients.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and able to be fully honest about what you’re experiencing. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, or unsure of themselves, and together we work to bring clarity, steadiness, and greater self-trust. I integrate attachment-informed and cognitive-behavioral approaches to help you understand patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and respond more intentionally in your relationships and daily life. Therapy with me is both supportive and practical — we explore underlying dynamics while also building tools you can use outside of session.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy begins with understanding your current challenges, what feels most difficult right now, and what you hope will feel different through this work. Early sessions focus on identifying emotional patterns, stressors, and relational dynamics, while creating a supportive foundation where you feel comfortable and understood. Ongoing sessions typically involve a blend of exploration and skill-building. We work on increasing emotional awareness, strengthening regulation, improving communication, and developing more adaptive ways of responding to stress and relational challenges. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned — both internally and in your relationships. Ongoing sessions typically involve a blend of supportive exploration and practical tools. We work on building emotional awareness, strengthening regulation skills, and understanding the deeper patterns that influence how you feel, relate, and respond. My goal is to help you develop clarity, self-trust, and sustainable ways of navigating life with greater confidence and ease, while feeling supported throughout the process.
