“Chrissy’s kind yet intuitive and always asks the right questions to get the answers I need to hear, sometimes even if I don’t want to. She’s delicate though, she hasn’t made me address any topic I have not been ready to tackle. She helps me discover the tools I already had and use them to work through the biggest challenges I face in the most effective way and breaks tasks down into small, doable projects, rather than an huge impossible feat. I haven’t been working with her a very long time, but I like her and admire, not only her personality, but her methods and professionalism too! Thanks Chrissy!!”

Getting to know Chrissy Wagner

Hi there, I'm Chrissy! My name is Christine (Chrissy) Wagner, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Texas. I earned my master’s degree in social work from Texas State University. I have over 30 years of social and human service experience in family and child welfare. I have worked with hospice patients and families, providing both group and individual therapy. I work with adults and specialize in aging, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and inner conflict, using cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based, and emotion-focused therapy. I am here to help you address your mental health concerns with a patient-centered, strength-based approach tailored to fit your needs. My approach My approach varies based on the needs of each client. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Understanding our thoughts and feelings helps increase awareness and supports learning to implement positive thoughts and coping skills. Both treatment modalities help me and the client build understanding and work together to reach their goals. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults dealing with the challenges of life transitions, social pressures, inner conflict, grief, and loneliness. These challenges often present as anxiety, depression, isolation, feeling overwhelmed, worthlessness, and anger. I work to guide and support my clients through these transition periods and help them build positive coping skills so they can feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is calm and professional, client-centered, with active listening and a personable approach. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything in a relaxed, judgment-free environment.

I would never see this provider again. During an initial session, there was no introduction or attempt to establish rapport before a series of rapid yes-or-no questions began. The lack of warmth made the session feel impersonal and ineffective. I was able to recognize pretty quickly that this was not the right fit for me. But, for someone new to therapy, or even anyone seeking even warmth at all, this approach isn’t it. This is not how therapy needs to be, and I would not recommend this provider.
