Getting to know Christa Whorton
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida with almost 10 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and families. Currently, I work with adults dealing with life transitions, relationship issues, work-related stress, self-esteem issues, codependency and symptoms of depression and anxiety. I understand others by learning about their lived experiences, the societal and family norms they are expected to follow, along with getting a sense of their patterns of behavior. I consider all of these to gain a comprehensive picture of who you are as an individual. You can expect our therapy sessions to be what you make them; you are the guide and the expert on you. I utilize therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused, Internal Family Systems and behavior activation. My career has afforded me opportunities to work with a vast array of people, sometimes at the lowest point in their life. Life knocks us down and getting back up again without support is hard. Let's work together to reconnect with that inner strength you may have felt like you lost along the way. I'm here to support you and possibly challenge you to reflect inward as to what may be getting in the way of being present and enjoying life.
