Getting to know Christi Bell

Hello! My name is Christi Bell. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino, and I’m looking forward to working with you! I believe that the best therapy happens in partnership between the therapist and the client. My clinical focus is working with teenagers and adults in the LGBTQIA2S+ community and survivors of trauma. I look forward to getting to know you better! My approach I believe in the power of stories to help us make sense of and find meaning in our lives. I use a combination of approaches, including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I also use the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) to help heal trauma and discover new meaning in clients’ lived experiences. My focus I enjoy working with adolescents and adults up to age 50 who have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, body dysmorphia, and PTSD. I specialize in supporting members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and survivors of trauma. My communication style It is very important to me that my clients feel heard and seen. I work to co-create emotional safety in the therapeutic environment, and no topic is off limits. I am gently direct, kind, and strengths-based. It takes courage to go to therapy, and I honor that courage with respect, care, compassion, and empathy. My journey to mental healthcare I have wanted to be a therapist since elementary school. It has always been important to me to choose a career that serves people—to support them through challenges, celebrate victories, and hold hope for them when they worry that hope may be lost. I am driven by the firm belief that we all have the capacity to heal and build the life of our dreams already inside us. From my own mental health journey, I believe we are not our diagnoses, nor the worst thing we have ever done or experienced.
