Christian Clevenger, AMFT

Psychotherapist
605 Tennant Ave, Ste G, Morgan Hill, CA
The provider is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Feel Better Therapy. I bring a calm, caring, and engaged presence to the room. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can breathe, be real, and not have to perform. You do not need to show up with the right words or a perfectly organized story. We can start where you are. My approach helps people understand the different parts of themselves with more clarity and self compassion. I also draw from trauma informed care and relationship focused work. In simple terms, I help clients explore the emotions, defenses, and fears that shape their inner world and relationships. Clients often appreciate that I am both emotionally attuned and practical. I care about helping you gain insight, but I also want therapy to help your actual life feel better. That may mean improving communication, reducing anxiety, healing old wounds, setting healthier boundaries, or learning how to respond differently when you are triggered. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling understood, steadier, and more connected to yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is not about judging you or rushing you. It is about helping you understand what is happening inside, make sense of your patterns, and build a healthier relationship with yourself and the people you care about. I believe healing can be gentle, comfortable, and life changing. No matter what brings you in, your story is worthy of care, compassion, and real attention. My approach is largely informed by Internal Family Systems, which helps people understand the different parts of themselves with more clarity and self compassion. I also draw from trauma informed care and relationship focused work. In simple terms, I help clients explore the emotions, defenses, fears, and longings that shape their inner world and relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process starts with getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy right now. In early sessions, I want to hear your story, learn about the challenges you are facing, and understand what you hope will change. We will talk about your relationships, emotional patterns, stressors, and any past experiences that may still be affecting you in the present. As we begin working together, I focus on helping you feel safe, seen, and understood. From there, we start making sense of what is happening beneath the surface. We may explore the parts of you that feel anxious, shut down, self critical, overwhelmed, or stuck in old roles. We do this gently and at a pace that feels manageable. The goal is not to force anything, but to help you build insight and self trust. A typical session may include talking through a current stressor, noticing what you are feeling in your body, identifying emotional triggers, exploring patterns in relationships, and working toward new ways of responding. Sometimes sessions are reflective and insight based. Sometimes they are more practical and focused on tools, communication, boundaries, or coping strategies. Often they are both. Over time, therapy becomes a place where deeper healing can happen. Clients often begin to understand themselves with less shame and more compassion. They learn how to respond to themselves and others in healthier ways. My goal is to help you move toward greater peace, clarity, confidence, and connection in your daily life.

More information on payments and coverage

Insurance coverage can vary depending on your plan, so I encourage clients to confirm their mental health benefits, copay, deductible, and any out of network coverage before the first session. I want the financial side of therapy to feel clear and straightforward, not confusing or stressful. Payment is typically collected at the time of service using the payment method on file. I believe transparency matters. If you have questions about cost, coverage, or what to expect financially, I encourage you to ask. My goal is to help you understand the process clearly so you can focus on your care.
