Getting to know Christian Moresco

You want to feel autonomy in your mental health, yet also recognize the need for guidance. My approach to therapy is collaborative, flexible, and goal-oriented. When you come into a session, you can expect support that helps steer your treatment in the direction you want. You may also choose to take your treatment step-by-step in a more structured way. I am more than willing to meet clients where they are so that together, we can define what progress means and achieve it as a team. My interests in therapy focus on phobias, such as agoraphobia and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as mood disorders like depression and anxiety. Working with people facing these challenges is the most rewarding part of my work as a therapist. I became interested in therapy through the privilege of being part of a service community in college, where I worked with individuals with severe physical and intellectual disabilities. This experience opened my mind to the intricacies of the mind and its ability to persevere despite significant challenges. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University. Before joining the Chicago Institute for Change, I worked in private practice, supporting clients on their mental health journeys by addressing depression, anxiety, and histories of trauma. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new recipes to cook and bake, as well as discovering the perfect cup of coffee while exploring the city of Chicago.
