Christiana Hargrave, LMFT, MA

Psychotherapist
1720 El Camino Real, Burlingame, CA
Since my high school days, I have been interested in the field of psychology and the improvement of mental health. I pursued these interests at Holy Names University, where I earned a Bachelor's degree, followed by dual Master's degrees in Counseling and Forensic Psychology. I have practiced for many years in nonprofit and forensic settings, working with victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, sexual offenders, and providing school counseling for adolescents. In my sessions, I strive to create a comfortable, friendly, and supportive atmosphere. My predominant therapeutic styles are cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, but I also incorporate other approaches depending on my client's needs and treatment goals. I have specialized in many areas of therapy, including harm reduction, trauma, anxiety and depression, development of life skills, problem solving, risk reduction, and various areas of sexual dysfunction. I have had the pleasure of working with people of diverse ages and backgrounds. I consider myself an LGBT+ ally and continuously work on cultural competency as well as social justice issues that can impact individuals.
