Getting to know Christianne Young
Are you feeling stressed and frustrated? If you're looking for a Christian counselor, I can help you bring understanding and healing to your life. I join with my clients to help them create a more centered life in line with their goals and values. Specializing in individual counseling for adults, I offer therapy for those experiencing anger, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, uncontrolled emotions, relationship frustrations, and other personal struggles. In practice since 2012, I hold a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a concentration in Marriage & Family.
In counseling, I will always treat you with warmth and care. Let me work with you to make tackling these difficult parts of life easier. Through the counseling you seek, I want you to have an experience that creates emotional healing and gives you the freedom to more easily direct your thoughts and behaviors. You can learn to improve your relationships and live confidently. I use EMDR, emotionally focused therapy, some cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, and art therapy modalities. I do not criticize or judge my clients for anything they have done or any choices they have made. I'm here to help clients understand and heal.
Spirituality
Biblical, Christian counseling is incorporated at the client's request. I want to join your spiritual experiences with your thoughts and feelings about your current life situation to create awareness, understanding, and ultimately healing. I am a Christian and attend a local church weekly.
What should a new client know about working with you?
The counseling will be provided at the pace the client needs. My counseling style is client centered, so we talk about what you want when you want to talk about it. Counseling is not a race. Different people will work through their feelings and thoughts at different timelines. I'm here to work with you. I always meet my clients where they are. Counseling is an open dialogue. I only see individuals. Although I do relationship counseling, I do not see couples. I talk with the individual client to help them better understand the dynamics of the relationship and give them guidance related to assertiveness, boundaries, emotional needs, and conflict de-escalation.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The first session is the intake session. During the intake, I will ask you what brought you to counseling and what your broad and specific goals are. After the intake session, I develop a treatment plan and together we will work toward your goals. If your goals for counseling should change through the counseling process, I will change the treatment plan. We discuss and discover what method of counseling works for the client. If the client wants homework, I send homework that might be assignments such as articles to read, videos to watch, mental health exercises, journaling, or relationship based or socially based exercises.

I accept FSA and HSA cards for payment. I'm in network with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, and Oxford. Before your first session, I will inquire with your insurance company to make sure I'm in network with your plan. I also let the client know the amount of their co-pay fee or deductible. I file the insurance claim after each session. I use Headway, Alma, and Ensora Health to file insurance.
