Getting to know Christie Gomez

As a mental health counselor, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner resilience. My approach is collaborative, empathetic, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their healing. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques to guide clients in developing effective coping strategies, building emotional resilience, and gaining greater self-awareness. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, while equipping them with the tools to lead more fulfilling, balanced lives. What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is key to growth and healing, so I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. I listen carefully to understand your unique experiences and concerns, and together, we will develop a plan that aligns with your personal goals. My approach integrates evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques, which we’ll tailor to what works best for you. I view therapy as a partnership—while I’ll offer support, guidance, and tools, you will be an active participant in the process, setting the pace and direction of our work together. Throughout our sessions, I will encourage you to explore new perspectives, build coping strategies, and develop skills that will help you create lasting change. My goal is to help you gain clarity, develop greater self-awareness, and empower you to lead a more balanced, fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me usually begins with a check-in where we discuss how you’ve been feeling, any challenges you’ve encountered, and what’s on your mind. I’ll ask open-ended questions to help guide the conversation, but ultimately, the session is driven by what’s most important to you. We’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a supportive, nonjudgmental way. Depending on your needs, I may introduce specific therapeutic tools or techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) exercises, mindfulness practices, or goal-setting strategies. I also encourage reflection on any progress you’ve made, as well as any areas you’d like to focus on moving forward. At the end of each session, we’ll review any insights gained, discuss action steps for the coming week, and address any questions you might have. My goal is to ensure you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools to navigate your challenges.
