Most relevant
I’ve interviewed many therapists and never come across one who is actively typing as I am speaking. At the end of the appointment, she states that she has typed everything I said word for word and will be submitting it to insurance as a part of my medical record. Not only is that unnecessary, she should have told the patient that before doing such an intrusive thing.
I specifically said I am looking for someone who is supportive and asked about her opinion on certain topics and wanted to gauge whether or not she would be a good fit for me. The most important thing between a patient and a therapist is the connection. She refused to answer many of my questions. when I asked about her experience, she gave me vague answers. At one point she even asked in a brash way “should we continue?” And I said “well I’m already here.”
I should’ve signed off then and there. I would never recommend her to anyone. She does not have the interpersonal skills to be a good therapist.

Unfortunately, I found the therapist I met with to be cold and somewhat rude, and she doesn’t offer in-person EMDR, which I was specifically seeking. When I mentioned I found her on a website that stated she offered that service, she responded in a dismissive tone and "reminded" me that it was not available. I thanked her and ended the call, but this experience left me feeling even more empty than before.
