Hello! My name is Christien Harden, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NC and VA), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (NC) and Certified Clinical Supervisor (NC). While attending graduate school, my focuses were the LGBT community, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, and Substance Use Disorders. At present, I provide all services virtually. Overall, I want to talk about the matters that matter to you. Life isn't always easy but, it should not always be a struggle. It is my wish to assist those struggling with mental health and substance use issues by providing an experienced, caring atmosphere to grow and heal.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with a myriad of clients but, I specialize in working with LGBTIQ2S+ community, those struggling with Substance Use Disorders, and those struggling with trauma. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their careers.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first session, we will complete a thorough initial assessment in order to better understand you, the individual. We will begin to unpack the matters that that have brought you to therapy and lay out a roadmap for your individual recovery. Throughout our time together, you will learn and practice a number of strategies to work through the matters that matter to you.
