Christina Davis, LPC

Psychotherapist
MD
Hello! My name is Christina Davis, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a registered Addictions Counselor Candidate (ADCC). Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I found my husband there before embarking on a journey that took us through multiple states due to his military service. Along the way, we welcomed two wonderful children, now 19 and 10 years old. After spending 12 years in beautiful Colorado, we recently made the move to Washington DC. Currently, I am available exclusively through tele-therapy, allowing me to connect with clients from the comfort of their own homes. With over a decade of experience working with justice-involved individuals managing substance use and co-occurring disorders, I have honed my skills in implementing evidence-based practices for behavior modification. My professional journey includes approximately 1.5 years in the private sector, focusing on co-occurring disorders, and a significant tenure in various areas of the criminal justice system. My work has always been driven by a commitment to reducing recidivism through addressing individual criminogenic risk factors. My therapeutic approach is rooted in several evidence-based models, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Crisis Intervention. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. I specialize in a range of areas, including addiction, antisocial behavior, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, depression, developmental disabilities, family relationships, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, military and veteran support, psychosis and schizophrenia, spirituality, and stress. My goal is to help clients navigate their challenges and work towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
