Getting to know Dr. Christina Phillips

I have been in clinical mental health counseling since 2017. I hold a Doctor of Ministry in Counseling from Pentecostal Theological Seminary. I have experience working with Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Substance Abuse Disorders, Autism, and more. I work with individuals, families, and couples across a wide range of populations, from children to adults. My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, Mindfulness, Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma Therapy, and Christian-based Therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I view therapy as a journey towards wellness that the client and I are on together. I like for the client to feel comfortable, and we will discuss whatever is pertinent to the client. I believe all clients have great potential, and I use a positive and strengths-focused approach to therapy to help clients focus on how they can overcome their current challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The typical process is to help clients identify negative thoughts and beliefs coming from their experiences and reframe them into a more positive way to look at their situation/circumstance. The client is given action steps to take towards changing into the person that they want to become. The client goes through a process of discovering who they want to be.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $75 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $75 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
