Christina Pruden, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NJ
As someone who has faced personal challenges, I have found my passion in helping others to find a path through theirs. I operate from a strengths-perspective and believe in utilizing an individual's natural instincts to address barriers while incorporating healthy coping techniques to improve overall wellness. I am willing to work with those who fall into any "category" along the spectrum of mental health who share a common goal to live their best life. A majority of my clinical experience has been in life transitions, including college-age, new parents, and empty nesters. I utilize motivational enhancement strategies to assist individuals with identifying a clear direction for themselves with regard to their goals for treatment. We will work together to maintain your personal strengths and address barriers in order to progress on your self-defined goals. I like to start with a brief phone conversation before any charges apply for a session.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize solutions-focused based modalities in order to help find relief now. I do not have a goal to keep you a client for life but to get to a comfortable state of functioning with or without ongoing maintenance sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I utilize a dynamic therapeutic approach, incorporating my training in cognitive behavioral, motivational enhancement, and acceptance and commitment therapies to meet individual need. In our first few sessions, we will explore what brought you to seek therapy now and some of your history to help guide my approach. Together, we will define your goals for treatment.
