Christina Ritchie, AMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Christina is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). I work with adults, couples, and children through a trauma-informed, somatic, and creative approach. As a trauma specialist, my work explores how early experiences shape the ways we cope with stress, emotions, and relationships. These patterns can create tension or repeated struggles that leave us feeling stressed, stuck, or disconnected. Through EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic approaches, I help clients process what’s underneath so they can feel calmer, more grounded, and better connected with themselves and others. I also work with adults and children of all abilities using music therapy. I provide an inclusive, culturally sensitive, and neurodiversity affirming space where clients of all ages can feel seen, understood, and supported. Current rates: Individual Therapy (50 minutes): $200 Couples Therapy (50 minutes): $250 *Sessions are typically held weekly

What should a new client know about working with you?

Just come as you are, I'll meet you where you're at. Some sessions may be focused on every day life stressors, while others might go deeper. I view my role as holding a therapeutic space while reminding you to return home to your body's wisdom. My style is warm and engaged. Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with matters, and I take the fit seriously.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions are focused on getting to know each other, understanding your history, and clarifying what you are hoping to get out of therapy. From there, sessions are largely led by what you bring in. For trauma work, I am thoughtful about pacing and prioritize building a solid foundation before moving into more intensive processing with EMDR or somatic approaches. With couples, I meet with both partners together and briefly individually before moving into ongoing couples work. With adolescents, building genuine rapport comes first. I check in regularly about how things are feeling and whether the work is moving in a useful direction.
