Getting to know Dr. Christina Robinson

Do you struggle with anxiety, worry, or depression but don't know where to start making changes? My practice is focused on balancing a compassionate relationship with the best evidence-based techniques to help you build tools for lasting change. I am a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience and expertise in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, and depression. I earned my PhD in Psychology from the University of Houston and completed a fellowship at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. I am one of only 10 psychologists in LA who is Board Certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. My focus is on understanding your unique story and tailoring sessions to meet your individual needs. My practice helps people recover from difficult periods in their lives, such as a traumatic event or loss, life transition, or intense feelings of anxiety and depression. You can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your concerns. I provide specialized treatments such as CPT and EMDR for trauma, CBT for insomnia, and exposure therapy for OCD or anxiety. I also help with life transitions, work stress, and relationship difficulties. I offer evening, weekend, and telehealth sessions for convenience. Please be aware that I do not accept insurance. See pricing details for more information.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients who struggle with feeling overwhelmed by emotions, life stress, or ineffective coping strategies. During our initial sessions, we focus on building a collaborative relationship and treatment plan that is tailored to your specific goals. You can expect to gain specific tools for short-term relief as well as deeper insights for sustained resilience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session will involve learning more about what is bringing you to therapy and your relevant life history. The end of the first session includes a preliminary treatment plan. Early sessions will focus on building a collaborative relationship and providing specific coping strategies tailored to your needs. I provide both Cognitive Behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my practice to help clients identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may keep people feeling stuck. My goal is that clients learn specific coping tools within a framework of self-compassion and appreciation for their inner emotional wisdom.
