Right now, you’re struggling to find purpose in your daily life—feeling overwhelmed by grief or other role demands. You need a warm, safe environment to explore patterns that are holding you back and find ways of moving forward. While it’s easier to hide from what is causing you pain, by taking action now, you will begin to understand who you are and what you want out of life. Whether you are a student, a stay-at-home mom, a professional, or retired, you will learn new ways to cope with life—but most importantly, learn to make positive changes toward greater life balance and acceptance while creating meaning. Using a meaning-centered EMDR approach, I will help you process loss and trauma, reduce symptoms, and improve self-worth and coping. Grief and Trauma Counseling, Maternal Mental Health Training, EMDR Therapy, and Pastoral Counseling are tools that equip me to effectively help you overcome life’s challenges and build meaning. I hold a Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Marymount University and a Bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University, which have shaped my compassionate and holistic approach to care. The first and most difficult step is to admit that your current attempts to cope and manage your issues aren’t working. The next step is to take action. If you feel stuck in life, know that you don’t have to go it alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You need a warm, safe environment to explore patterns that are holding you back and find ways of moving forward. Recovery from grief, trauma, and difficult life transitions is like the journey of a space explorer. The early astronauts didn’t know if they would ever make it back, and they didn’t know what they would find. The meaningfulness of their journey and their courage allowed them to transcend the uncertainty and fear. The ability to re-evaluate and emphasize your meaning and approach to distressing life events will help build resilience and growth. By taking action now you will begin to better understand who you are and what you want out of life. It’s time to create your meaning and set a course for your new normal.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First, we will uncover the how and why through talk therapy and EMDR approaches. Then, we will work together to build acceptance and reduce the hold the past trauma has on your present and future. The ultimate goal is to build more meaning and self-acceptance to help you overcome the past and future difficulties.
