Getting to know Christina Senatore

It's great to meet you! I have worked within the mental health field as a school psychologist and a licensed mental health professional for almost 30 years. My experience includes but is not limited to: anxiety, depression, children and adolescents, parenting skills, self-esteem, empowerment, life transitions, and divorce. I believe everyone deserves and hour a week that is THEIRS, and that we are all able to become the people we want to be.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a new client I want you to know the biggest predictor of success in therapy isn't the modality used but is the strength of the relationship between the client and therapist. Building our therapeutic relationship is my top priority. I do my best for sessions to be a safe and accepting space for you to share what has brought you to therapy. It is my goal that clients leave sessions with a sense of feeling heard, understood, safe, and with some tools they can utilize between sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process looks like new clients coming in for an intake session which is about 1 hour. This is a session where we fill out or discuss paperwork that has already been filled out. I want to understand your goals, and what has brought you to therapy. This session gets to be an in-depth exploration of you from the beginning to now. Sometimes, an intake session can extend to the 2nd or even 3rd session. No detail is too small. Everything is important to me. From there we typically meet once a week to work on your goals.
