Christine Chavez, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Christine! My name is Christine Chavez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling from California State University, Sacramento. I see clients through telehealth throughout the state, working with children, adolescents, and adults. My specialties include trauma, grief, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and couples therapy to support your healing and growth process. My approach I am an unbiased therapist, meeting clients where they are with kindness and a person-centered focus. My main approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Method, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (tapping). I also adapt other techniques depending on each client’s unique needs. My focus I typically work with clients of all ages who experience one or more of the challenges mentioned above. I seek to work with individuals who are open to healing and receptive to new perspectives or learning new skills. My communication style When clients enter a session, they are welcomed by a warm, non-judgmental, and person-centered therapist. Together, we create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their concerns. By actively listening, I collaborate with clients to develop meaningful goals that guide our work together. My journey to mental healthcare As a retired teacher with 30 years of experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, I bring a wealth of understanding to my practice. Being in the helping profession of teaching made it a natural transition to continue my passion for helping people—one person at a time—through therapy.
