Getting to know Christine Gauthier

I enjoy working with different people and clinical issues, from those seeking clarity related to life decisions, transitions, or relationships, to those trying to overcome anxiety, depression, improve their self-esteem, or come to a place of contentment with their lives. More recently I have honed my practice around mood, behavior and social issues, and with struggling students and parents who are trying to support their children both at home and in school. I've worked in private practice, consulted with New England prep schools, counseled students from the general and special education communities, and at the college level. I offer a unique skill set in the areas of mental health counseling and school psychological practice. It is an honor and a privilege for me to work as a therapist. I'm happy to make time to connect to discuss your questions or concerns and look forward to hearing from you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I don't think therapy is a one size fits all process. Where one person might respond well to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, another person might respond better to Positive Psychology. My treatment approach will depend on your presenting problem and what I learn about you both at intake and over the course of treatment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I have experience treating individual and family systems issues and am also knowledgeable of the learning and special education process in K-12 public schools. During your initial session we'll identify the areas you'd like to work on, and develop goals and objectives to measure progress.
