Do you feel overwhelmed? Is your relationship feeling stuck or unfulfilling? Do you wonder if you have anxiety and/or depression? Fear, sadness, and loneliness are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions we can experience at some point in our lives. Many individuals experience symptoms associated with changes in their life, planned or unforeseen. Often, our relationships can impact or add to these emotions. The struggles of navigating our relationships are not something we are born knowing how to do. This includes how to parent or stepparent. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from New College of California, which has equipped me to support individuals and families through these challenges. Together, we can explore your feelings and relationships to find a path toward healing and fulfillment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Trained in Psychodynamic therapy and with 15+ years of counseling experience, my goal is to help understand how the past influences the present. I am a solution focused therapist who believes in gaining tools that are relevant to the here and now while bringing insight and awareness to the why as much as possible. Together, we will work towards your goals. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward with hope.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the crux of therapy is the need for trust and building rapport. Typically, our first session I view as an opportunity for us to get to know each other. First, I will review my policies with you which includes things like reviewing confidentiality and my cancellation policy, etc. Then, we will explore what you are hoping to gain from therapy and establish your goals. This is an opportunity for you to ask me questions as well. After the first session and moving forward, typically I will start my session by asking you if you have noticed anything weighing on your heart or mind that you would like to explore in today's session. This may or may not be tied to your goals, but often even if it is not obvious at first it is typically related. Then, we will explore the topics in depth and often we will begin to understand patterns, develop coping strategies, and together we will figure out. a way forward. I also am EMDR trained and I am able to provide EMDR therapy online. This is an additional tool that some therapists utilize to help with processing trauma and exploring core beliefs we have about ourselves.
