Getting to know Christine Moffatt

I believe healing begins when you feel safe and supported. My practice is centered on providing a warm and nurturing space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment. Whether working with children, teens or adults, I want my clients to know we will always celebrate and build on your strengths while working to overcome the challenges you’re facing. I want this journey to be positive and joyful whenever possible.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My eclectic perspective as a therapist is informed by years of experience working with children, families, and individuals as well as my studies completing my MSW at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. I also studied Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University and have certifications in Wellness Coaching from the Mayo Clinic and in Reiki Training. Life long learning is essential to this work so I’m always adding training to enhance my practice whether it’s strengthening my Trauma Informed Practice, Meditation and Mindfulness Techniques, CBT or Play Therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe your needs and goals are unique, so that means we work together to find the solution and path forward that makes sense in your life. Sometimes it’s looking back at childhood experiences and their connections to current behavior patterns, but for other others it might mean building resilience by developing coping skills to manage emotions or reframe thought patterns.
