Getting to know Christine Skinner

By working collaboratively, we can decrease anxiety and depression, increase self-esteem, enhance insight and understanding of self, and identify patterns of behaviors and thinking—just to name a few benefits. Therapy isn’t a magic wand, and you won’t be happy every day or never experience stress again. Therapy is a way to help you learn effective coping skills, change thoughts and behaviors that lead to distress, provide symptom relief, help problem-solve, and improve relationships. I strive to help my clients reach their goals, process current or past traumas, manage stress efficiently, and find purpose in their lives. I have been doing outpatient therapy for the past ten years, working with adolescents and their families as well as with adults. Previously, I had nine years of experience at a behavioral health hospital in the crisis department. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Adler University.
