Christopher is a clinically trained Mental Health Counselor, licensed in the states of Texas and Arizona. He holds a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling from John Carroll University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Child Studies from Miami University. He has over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of life stressors including LGBTQ+ issues, male and female sexual concerns, trauma, grief, chemical dependency, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders. He also has extensive experience working with PTSD, developmental disorders, and individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Working in a variety of settings throughout his career has fueled his passion for learning and growth. Since his early beginnings in community mental health, he has worked in nearly every setting available to him within his field including: school-based counseling, group counseling, inpatient mental health, private practice, academia, and research. Most recently, he completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, Indonesia to help improve his understanding of mindfulness, meditation, and physical health. Christopher, like many counselors, tailors his treatment approach to the individual, couple, or family he works with. He uses reality-based, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and Gestalt approaches in his work. He has worked with many diverse backgrounds of religion, ethnicity, sexuality, and ability: helping each person recognize and utilize their strengths to more effectively cope and celebrate their individuality. He strives to lead a balanced life and oftentimes incorporates health and wellness into the work that he does. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, practicing yoga, and reading in his hammock with his rescue pit.
