What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients describe me as calm, patient, and empowering. I am here first and foremost to listen and understand with compassion. I have been working in the mental health field since 2011, and as a professional counselor since 2016. I have worked in schools, hospitals, detention centers/shelters, family-based programs, but mostly the outpatient setting since 2018. I have expertise in mindfulness and its application in reducing stress/anxiety. I have found that using this in combination with psychotherapy can be highly effective in treating and managing many mental/emotional issues. Outside of my work as a counselor, I enjoy time with my family as a husband and father. I have many hobbies including playing electric guitar, video games, hiking, reading, and cheering for the Phillies and Eagles.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy appointments are collaborative and I am flexible in adapting to what you need and what is most important for you to focus on. The first intake session is an introduction where I listen to your presenting concerns and ask you some questions to better understand you and your unique life circumstances. From there we discuss what you're looking to achieve in therapy, and we collaborate with a treatment plan to help you get there. Follow up sessions involve the processes and interventions needed to help you feel supported and resourced to help you move forward. My clients find comfort knowing they have a safe space in therapy to be seen and heard, not pressured to change or feel judged. My clients appreciate my honest feedback being delivered in a respectful manner. If you are looking for a safe space to work on yourself and move forward in a healthy meaningful way, then I may be the right match to work with you. I offer a free 15-minute consultation and would be happy to speak with you.
