I have training in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. The fusion of these approaches enables me to build a solid rapport with the individuals that I meet with while at the same time provide education on the application of evidenced-based practices in reducing emotional distress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As research indicates, nurturing a strong therapeutic alliance is the best predictor of successful therapy. I make every effort to make sure that the people I work with feel empathy and support so that a solid therapeutic alliance can be attained. Once that is established, I like to provide an overview of strategies that could be helpful in reducing emotional distress.
