Christopher Mateo, ADHD-CCSP, MS, MEd, MCoun, LMHC

Psychotherapist
2200 6th Ave, Ste 510, Seattle, WA
Across my work, I use a systems-informed lens that considers how environment, identity, and relationships shape well-being. My formal training includes both Masters' level degrees in Mental Health Counseling (M.S.) and Professional Counseling (M.Phil.Ed.) from the University of Pennsylvania and an Undergraduate degree in Education (B.S.). Since I began practicing therapy; I have worked in community, forensic, private, and school-based settings providing both mental health support and couples counseling. I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and relationship partners, with specialized experience working with neurodivergent individuals, people with Autism, ADHD, executive function difficulties, and with individuals managing anxiety, burn out, life transitions, attachment, infidelity, trauma, and grief. More personally, I enjoy getting outside, hiking, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and reading (non-fiction, fantasy, manga, and sci-fi ~ I am a bit of a nerd). I can, and will, talk non stop about collecting fountain pens, magic the gathering cards, retro game consoles, and vinyl records. I can’t help smiling uncontrollably and laughing in loud bursts when with friends. My practice is also heavily influenced by my upbringing as a first-gen college student and my experiences in a large Puerto Rican family. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
