Getting to know Christopher Nemeth

Hello, I'm Chris Nemeth. With over twenty-five years of experience in mental health and wellness, I've had the privilege of working with some of the premier agencies in Columbus, Ohio, including the Buckeye Ranch, Northwest Counseling Services, Nationwide Children's Hospital at the Center for Child and Family Advocacy, Dublin Counseling Center, and Nemeth Counseling. My journey began with a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio State University in 1997, followed by an M.S.W. in 2000. I've been independently licensed since 2002, and my passion for helping others has only grown stronger over the years. I owned and ran Nemeth Counseling for 13 years, making it one of the most successful private practices in Ohio's history, with over 60 employees and more than 15,000 clients treated. My main areas of focus are family therapy, couples, and children/teens. I specialize in providing counseling services for ages 4-7 in-office and 8-75 virtually. Additionally, I offer consultation on leadership, supervision, and sports performance. My training includes EMDR, Solution-Focused, Gottman, Play Intervention, Family Systems Therapy, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. My therapeutic philosophy centers around creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive relationship. I am deeply committed to my clients and believe in practical, evidence-based treatment. For instance, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is highly effective for addressing depressive symptoms by targeting self-defeating thoughts and increasing emotional awareness. Solution-Focused Therapy works wonders for couples and families, helping them navigate challenges and find solutions.
